Dr. Oakley families,
April has arrived with a true mix of seasons- snowy mornings, brighter afternoons, and the steady anticipation of spring just around the corner. This time of year often brings both energy and unpredictability to our days, and it has been wonderful to see students continuing to engage, grow, and support one another through it all. Thank you, as always, for the many ways you partner with us to create a positive and caring school community.
Thank you to the Yellow Team for their thoughtful and engaging Spring Equinox assembly just before Spring Break. It was a wonderful way to mark the changing season and bring our community together.
We are looking forward to the Green Team’s upcoming assembly on April 23 at 2:30pm and the opportunity to gather again in celebration of student learning and leadership.
It is also an exciting time as we begin learning more about next year’s incoming Dr. Oakley students. With approximately half of our student population new each year, there are many decisions currently underway as we begin planning for the 2026–2027 school year. We are looking forward to welcoming new families at our Open House on May 26 from 9:30–11:00 a.m.
For our second-year students and families, please note that notifications from the L&L program for those who have applied have been delayed by at least two weeks. As soon as we receive notification that this process is complete, we will share this information with families. For those students transitioning back to community schools, please keep an eye on each school’s website. Many junior high schools host open houses this time of year! If you have any questions throughout the transition process, please reach out, as we are happy to help.
We appreciate your continued support and partnership as we head into the final stretch of the school year. This is a meaningful time for learning, connection, and celebration, and we look forward to all that the coming months will bring for our students and school community.
