Principal’s Message: November 2025
Dr. Oakley families,
November is a wonderful time to reflect on the progress our students have made and to look ahead to what’s next. We are excited to welcome you to our upcoming school conferences, where we’ll have the opportunity to share the incredible learning happening in our classrooms. These conversations are a chance to celebrate growth, set goals, and strengthen the partnership between home and school.
This month, we are especially proud of the strides our students have made in literacy. From building strong foundational skills to developing a love for reading and writing, their hard work is paying off. The success we are seeing is a testament to their effort, your support, and the dedication of our staff.
Thank you for being an essential part of our school community. We look forward to connecting with you during conferences and continuing to celebrate the progress and achievements of every student.
Upcoming Events:
School Conferences- November 27 4-8pm (in-person) and November 28 8-12pm (online)
- We will be hosting a Scholastic Book Fair in the Aux Gym on the lower level of the school. Students will have an opportunity to preview books on Wednesday and Thursday (November 26/27) during the school day. Families can purchase Thursday night from 4-8pm or send money/ payment cards to school on December 1.
- The set-up of conferences will look slightly different this time:
- All families in Blue, Yellow, Green, Orange, Red and Purple (Grades 3-6) will sign up as usual using the booking system for in-person conferences on Thursday night/ online conferences on Friday with homeroom teachers.
- Literacy teachers (Ms. Bryden, Ms. Petillot), PE (Ms. Wray), math (Mr. Stringer) and Junior High teachers (Ms. Watson, Ms. Somers, Ms. Stawinski, Ms. Vrooman and Ms. Coulter) will be available in the gym at individual tables on Thursday night. Please line up for the teacher(s) you wish to see for a shortened (5-10 minute) conference. Your child will provide information about which teachers they work closely with. Grade 3-6 families may also visit the gym to meet with literacy, PE and math. The teachers present in the gym will not be bookable- conferences will be hosted on a first-come, first serve basis.
- On Friday, all teachers will be bookable online. If you do not see your child’s teacher please use the toggle to “Show all conference leads” or call the office to book an appointment.
