Transition Meeting for Families Leaving Dr. Oakley at the end of the school year -Tuesday May 7 - 6:30-7:30 ONLINE.
Parents whose children will be transitioning out of Dr. Oakley School are encouraged to attend a virtual information session on Tuesday May 7 from 6:30 – 7:30 pm. We will be sharing information on the Dr. Oakley transition process. We will also be sharing strategies and tips to aid parents in supporting their children’s return to their community schools.
** Please note: This is only for our second year/transitioning students and different information from the last parent session. This information is shared each year, so our first year students and families will be provided this same opportunity next year prior to transitioning.
Some of the topics that will be discussed at the forum will be:
- Reducing anxiety around transitions
- Homework strategies
- Complementary course selection
- Home/school communication
- Establishing social connections
- Self and parent advocacy
