November 2-6
A big thank you to all the students and staff who organized and participated in Spirit Week. It was great to see the creativity, school spirit, and excitement throughout the building. From costumes to spirit day attire, students and staff helped make the week a fun celebration of our school community.

Game Donations
As we prepare for the colder months, we are looking to refresh our lunch time board game collection. If you have any gently used board games that your family no longer uses, we would greatly appreciate your donation. Please have your student drop donations off at the school office.
Thank you for helping us create fun opportunities for students during indoor recesses and lunch hours!
Home Reading at Dr. Oakley
Dr. Oakley teachers have created a short video outlining how literacy instruction is delivered at school and sharing strategies to support reading at home. We encourage you to take a few minutes to view the video and contact your child's reading teacher if you have any questions.

SKIP THE DEPOT
Please Start Saving your empty beverage containers, clothing, and old electronics to recycle with Skip the Depot and help fundraise for our school!
Dr. Oakley School, through the Pinnacle Parents Association (PPA) has been approved to fundraise through Skip the Depot Recycling!
No lugging bags of bottles to the school or sending anything with your kids on the bus - Skip the Depot will come to your house and pick up bagged and labelled items from you on a one-time or regularly scheduled basis.
Use this link to create an account or, if you already have an account with Skip the Depot, simply log in and search for Pinnacle Parent Association from the drop down menu to designate your recycling refunds to go towards Dr. Oakley School!
Instructions are easy to find on the website and you will be given your own unique number to attach to your bagged bottles/clothing/electronics (please separate and do not mix beverages with clothing, etc.) and then leave them out where you have indicated they will be on the day scheduled for pick up. It is easy-peasy and a win-win for both you and for the school.
With appreciation,
Dr. Oakley Pinnacle Parent Association
